The AAPI Heritage Month Celebration at UNCG
On May 15, 2026, the Asian & Pacific Islander Caucus (APIC) UNCG Chapter hosted its annual AAPI Heritage Month celebration in MHRA 3501. The event was made possible through the generous support of the Affinity Group Council and the Provost’s Office.
With this support, APIC provided a festive and well-attended luncheon featuring a diverse Asian fusion menu from local restaurants. The celebration brought together more than 100 faculty, staff, and students for an afternoon of food, conversation, and connection across departments and campus communities. This year’s gathering marked APIC’s largest turnout to date.
The annual celebration has become a meaningful tradition that reflects APIC’s ongoing commitment to fostering belonging, visibility, and community at UNCG. By creating informal and inclusive spaces like this luncheon, APIC continues to contribute to a more connected and vibrant campus culture.
The event served not only as a celebration of AAPI heritage but also as a moment of reflection, joy, and community as the academic year came to a close.
